Victim of Love Dominates the What a Summer Stakes
Laurel, MD (January, 18, 2020) – Tommy Town Thoroughbreds LLC’s Victim of Love earned the second stakes victory of her career with a dominating performance in the $100,000 What a Summer Stakes at Laurel Park. Away well in the six and one-half furlong main track event, the 4-year-old filly used her early speed to prompt the inside pacesetter. Moving to the lead passing the half-mile pole, Victim of Love set sail for home at the top of the stretch. She drew off and was never challenged, crossing under the wire nearly four lengths best.
Victim of Love is by Speightstown out of the graded stakes winning and producing Awesome Again mare, Spacy Tracy. Bred in Kentucky by Daniel J. Burke, she is trained by Todd Beattie. She has won or placed in seven of her twelve career starts and has earned $171,829. The What a Summer Stakes victory also included back-to-back seasons donated by Kalem Shah to his G1-winner Dortmund.
