Cypress, CA (September, 25, 2021) – Tizlightning overcame trouble at the start to become the TWELFTH winner for California’s Leading Freshman Sire, Stanford. The bay gelding proved best in the 7th race at Los Alamitos going five and one-half furlongs over the fast track.
Tizlightning’s troubles were at the start. He stumbled leaving the gate and bumped the rival next to him. While some first time starters would have stopped right there, he was unbothered. He recovered quickly, going straight into a duel for the lead. That competition lasted until the top of the stretch when Tizlightning shook clear and opened up. Taken in hand late, he came home best by three lengths.
Tizlightning is a homebred racing for Lori Gallegos and he is trained by Steve Miyadi. He is out of the Cee’s Tizzy mare, Tizadream.
