Tommy Town Thoroughbreds Win Three on the Day

Albany and Arcadia CA (January 11, 2020) – It was quite an exciting day for the racing stable of Tommy Town Thoroughbreds with three new winners spanning the California racetracks!

The day began with Blowinthebluesaway making a winning debut in the opener at Golden Gate Fields. Overcoming a bump at the start, the 4-year-old son of Ministers Wild Cat closed steadily to get the nod at the wire of the six furlong maiden over the all weather. The homebred is out of the Eurosilver mare, Blues and Silvers.

Shifting to Santa Anita, Tommy Town and Ministers Wild Cat struck again with another homebred as 3-year-old gelding Mahi Mahi, breaking his maiden going one mile over the main track in the 4th race. Sitting just off the pacesetter, he split horse in the stretch to win by a head. He was produced by the Successful Appeal mare, Ms Vanenzza.

Rounding out the day, Tommy Town debuted the pair of sophomore first timers, Tiz Fake News and Zakar in the 7th race at Golden Gate. If you had the fillies on an exacta ticket, you went to the window! Tiz Fake News made a speedy break and never looked back, rolling to a four length victory in the five and one-half furlong maiden special weight over the all weather. Zakar tracked her stablemate early in third, but found trouble when forced five wide into the stretch. She overcame the lost ground with a steady effort to gain the place by a half-length.

Tiz Fake News is by Tiznow out of the Empire Maker mare, Media Madness. Zakar is by Into Mischief out of the Vindication mare, Vindy City.

All these runners are from the barn of trainer Jonathan Wong.
