Tommy Town Filly 50th Winner for Stanford
Albany, CA (April 22, 2023) – Tommy Town homebred filly Get My Point became the 50th individual winner for her sire Stanford with her maiden victory over one mile in her turf debut today at Golden Gate Fields.
With 87 starters in his first two crops, (no 2023 2-year-olds have yet started), Stanford’s winners from starters percentage is 57%. He is currently the leading Third Crop Sire in California, for stallions that have stood their entire careers in the Golden State.
Get My Point had started seven times prior to today, with every start coming over the Tapeta surface. The 3-year-old was not without success, as she finished second or third five times, but the visit to the winner’s circle was elusive until she stepped onto the firm turf course. At home from the beginning, she was way well under jockey Armando Ayuso. The pair settled in a stalking position two lengths off the battle up front and their position remained unchanged for the opening six furlongs. Ayuso moved her off the rail midway around the final turn, asked her to go. Get My Point was quick to respond. She charged to the lead as they came off the turn, opened up midway home, and with ears up, galloped under the wire an easier winner than the length and one-quarter margin would indicate.
Trained by Jonathan Wong, she was produced by the Indian Charlie mare, Didugetmypoint.
