Stanford Filly Ko Olina Wins Los Alamitos Allowance
Cypress, CA (June 23, 2023) – Ko Olina, the 4-year-old daughter of Stanford, dashed away from the gate and never looked back to win the 5th race on opening day at Los Alamitos Race Course’s early summer meeting.
Breaking from the outside post under jockey Kyle Frey, she zipped to a 22 flat opening quarter. Maintaining her advantage round the turn, she wandered a bit through the stretch, but was clearly best of the others to win the six and one-half furlong allowance by a length and one-quarter.
Ko Olina was bred in California by BKB Stables, LLC, Jerry Haugg and Brenda Haugg and he is trained by Luis Mendez. Racing for C T R Stables, LLC, he is out of the Mr. Greeley mare Nine to Five Lady. She has won or placed in six of her ten career starts and she has earned $130,596.
