Stanford Bay Much the Best at Golden Gate

Albany, CA (October 22, 2021) – Stanford Bay, our homebred son of California’s Leading Freshman Sire Stanford, won for the second time in his career, romping to victory in the 5th race at Golden Gate Fields, a five and one-half furlong allowance over the Tapeta surface.

Stanford Bay broke on top and quickly established a clear lead. Never seriously challenge at any point, he was asked to open up through the stretch and did so willingly. He cruised in much the best by more than five lengths.

Stanford Bay has been a model of consistency in his first season of racing. He has finished first or second in four of his five career outings for trainer Jonathan Wong. His dam is our homebred, stakes-winning daughter of Ministers Wild Cat, Curvy Cat, who attained black-type four times during her racing days.

Stanford is also a top-ten national freshman sire by number of winners.
