Overwhelming Love Earns Grassy Maiden Special Weight Diploma

Albany, CA (October 24, 2020) – Overwhelming Love, the Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, LLC’s 3-year-old daughter of Curlin, came from off the pace with a sustained rally to earn he maiden special weight diploma in the 4th race at Golden Gate Fields going nine furlongs over the firm turf course.

Rating kindly at the back of the pack through the first six furlongs, Overwhelming Love made her way forward on the outside path. She moved up steadily, but the uncontested on the pace leader was nearly three lengths in front with a furlong to run. She continued to close gamely, catching that leader in the waning moments and going on to a half-length victory.

Trained by Jonathan Wong, Overwhelming Love was bred in Kentucky by Elevage II, LLC. Her female family is one of the finest in the stud book. Her dam is a half-sister to Australian champion sire, Rubick (AUS). Her second dam is a three-quarter sister to sire legend Redoute’s Choice (AUS). They all trace in their tail female from the extraordinary Broodmare of the Year, Best in Show.
