Florence, KY (January 28, 2023) – Opening Buzz, our homebred daughter of Stanford, rallied strongly through the stretch to win the $125,000 Wishing Well Stakes going six and one-half furlongs at Turfway Park.

The 4-year-old filly came away well from post two, but she isn’t an on the lead early type. She raced comfortably in eight in the field of eleve and began to close the gap nearing the far turn. Jockey Walter Rodriguez found a ground saving inside route, but had to move Opening Buzz out when the leader crossed over to the rail at the top of the stretch. She regained her momentum and surged past the pacesetter in the final yards to win by a length in 1:16.65.

Opening Buzz is trained by Jonathan Wong. She is four-for-six lifetime and she has earned $152,585. He dam is the Unbridled’s Song mare, Open Mic.
