Old Topper Filly Becca Taylor Makes a Winning MSW Debut
Cypress, CA (December 13, 2020) – Old Topper filly Becca Taylor made a winning debut with an unrelenting stretch run in the finale on the card at Los Alamitos, a five and one-half furlong maiden special weight over the fast track.
Overlooked by the bettors despite a handy gate work on November 24, the juvenile miss was in the third flight through the opening quarter. Forced to go four wide around the turn, she had three lengths to make up at the top of the long stretch at the Cypress oval. The leader was not stopping as she went sub-twelve seconds from the four to five furlong mark, but Becca Taylor kept coming. She caught her in the shadow of the wire to win by a head.
Becca Taylor is a homebred for Nick Alexander and she is trained by Steve Miyadi. She is out of the winning General Meeting mare, Lady Sax, who is from the direct female family of champion Numbered Account.
