Ministers Wild Cat Sires Three Tommy Town-bred Winners at Golden Gate

Albany, CA (January 15, 2021) – Opening day of the 2021 season at Golden Gate Fields saw our stalwart California stallion Ministers Wild Cat sire a trio of Tommy Town-bred winners in three of the first five races on the card. Two of the three race in the farm colors.

Kicking off the day, stable member Run the Blues Away broke her maiden in her second start with an on the pace effort going five furlongs over the all weather by a length and one-quarter. Trained by Jonathan Wong, she is out of the winning Eurosilver mare, Blues and Silvers.

The 4th race saw 3-year-old filly Raging Waters come from off that pace after a rocky start to best her allowance foes over the all weather going six furlongs by just over a length. Racing for her trainer Jedd Jamison and Liam Lynch, her career mark stands at three wins from four starts. She was produced by the winning Stormy Atlantic mare, Calm the Sea.

Rounding out the trio was 3-year-old colt Stalking Shadow, who roared down the stretch with an eye-catching closing kick to earn his maiden special weight diploma going one mile over the Tapeta. The Jonatan Wong trainee drew off to win by two and one-half lengths. His dam is the winning Petionville mare, Silent Stalk.

In 2020, Ministers Wild Cat ranked #2 in the state by number of winners and wins by runners that were California-conceived.
