Auburn, WA, (July 23, 2020) – Daffodil Sweet, the 3-year-old daughter of Ministers Wild Cat, is now two-for-two lifetime with her easy route of allowance foes in the 3rd race at Emerald Downs going six furlongs.
Bumped at the start, she overcame the rough beginning to be the middle horse in a three-way challenge for the lead. She poked her head in front with a quarter-mile left to run and the race was over in the strides after that. She drew away under a hand ride to win by nearly eight lengths.
Daffodil Sweet has now won her two starts by a combined 16 1/2 lengths. Bred in California by Michael Terry, she is out of the winning Lion Heart mare, Easy On My Heart. She races for One Horse Will Do Corporation and Steve Shimizu and she is trained by Chris Stenslie.
Ministers Wild Cat’s 2017 crop has come out running. He is the co-number three sire of 3-year-old winners in California with eleven winners from eighteen starters. His 61% 3-year-old winners to starters (with at least ten starters) is tops in the state.
