Kafwain Sires Winners Up North and in the South; Ministers Wild Cat Gets a Pair of Winners
Arcadia, CA (May 18, 2017)-Kafwain sired two winners on the day with Santa Anita winner Fight Thru and Golden Gate Fields winner Skeeter Davis.
Fight Thru is a 2012 gelding out of Astor Park, by Ecton Park and went wire-to-wire to score by three and three quarter lengths as the favorite. He was bred by his owner Gary Barber and he has been first or second in five of his last six starts. His earnings are now over $84,000.
Skeeter Davis was taking her second in a row and has been in the money the last six starts. Skeeter Davis “broke a step slow then was unhurried to the second turn, came two wide to the stretch, eased inside the leader in upper stretch, rallied to get to terms with that one leaving the furlong grounds then outbattled her foe to the line.” She has won three placed twice with two third place finishes earning $25,835.
Cherokee Dynasty, a four-year-old by Ministers Wild Cat out of Cherokee Kiss (Cherokee Run) got his fourth lifetime win by taking his third in a row. Bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, LLC and owned and trained by Steven Miyadi this gelding has earned 0ver $55,000 in his career. Winning by five and three quarters lengths, Cherokee Dynasty “dueled three deep, took a short lead leaving the turn, inched away into the stretch, drifted in from the whip in midstretch, continued along the rail and drew away under left handed urging”.
Ministers Wild Cat‘s Swiss Rosalee, a four-year-old filly out of Little Bit a Swiss by Swiss Yodeler, earned her fifth lifetime win by taking a Penn National five and a half furlong event. She has now earned over $100,000 from her 26 starts. She has been off the board only once in her last seven outings.
