Justalittleviolent Wows ‘Em at Golden Gate
Albany, CA (February 15, 2020) – Impressive performances come in many forms. Earlier today, Tommy Town Thoroughbreds’ Song of the Night earned her the first victory of her career in dominant, frontrunning fashion in the opener at Laurel Park. In the nightcap at Golden Gate, Justalittleviolent overcame a start that would eliminate all but the bravest of racehorses to earn her maiden special weight in equally impressive style.
Justalittleviolent didn’t break with her field and when she did, she chose not to run a straight path for her first few strides. That left her six lengths behind the back markers of the field, with less than six furlongs to catch-up. Jockey Silvio Amador didn’t panic and let our daughter of Violence find her own rhythm. Still at the back coming into the stretch, she lost more ground swinging out into the five path. That’s when things changed. She unleashing an incredibly powerful closing kick, blowing by the leaders inside the final sixteenth and drawing away to win by two lengths.
Justalittleviolent was bred in Kentucky by Rock Ridge Thoroughbreds, LLC and she is trained by Jonathan Wong. She is out of the stakes-placed Speightstown mare, Little Sandy.
