Fly to Mars Returns to the Winner’s Circle at Del Mar

Del Mar, CA (November, 20, 2020) – Fly to Mars, the stakes winning and graded stakes-placed son of Ministers Wild Cat, returned to the winner’s circle today in the 6th race at Del Mar, a $60,500 allowance going one mile over the firm turf course.

The 6-year-old gelding had come back to the races earlier this season after a 22-month layoff. Carrying top weight today, he overcome a bobble at the break and settled in on the pacesetter’s flank all the way around. He was asked for his best in the stretch, wearing down his tenacious opponent and gaining a gritty victory by a neck.

Fly to Mars has earned $364,808 for his owner/breeder Gary Barber. Trained by Peter Miller, he is out of the stakes-placed Doc Gus mare, Warren’s Flyer.
