Eighteenth First Crop Winner for Stanford

Albany, CA (March 26, 2022) – Word of Warning, our homebred son of Stanford, became is sire’s EIGHTEENTH first crop winner. The 3-year-old colt made his second career start a winning one in the 4th race at Golden Gate Fields going five and one-half furlongs over the all weather.

Word of Warning was two lengths off the early lead as the field went down the backstretch and around the turn. Coming three wide at the top of the stretch, he narrowed the margin and drew even inside the final furlong. He proved best in the closing strides, opening up to win by a length and one-quarter.

Word of Warning is trained by Jonathan Wong. He was produced by the winning Lemon Drop Kid mare, She’s Not a Lemon.
