Day Plan Debuts a Winner

Albany, CA (May 15, 2021) – Day Plan made a tenacious racing debut with a hard fought victory in the opener at Golden Gate Fields, a maiden special weight going five and one-half furlongs over the Tapeta surface.

Our 3-year-old daughter of Carpe Diem jumped first from the outside post and was allowed to settle into stride. There was plenty of speed to her inside and jockey Irving Orozco kept her out of trouble. It came down to Day Plan and the leader at the top of the stretch. She dug in and drew closer as the two neared the wire. She got up in the final stride to win by a nose.

Day Plan was bred in Kentucky by Frederick C. Wieting and she was produced by the winning Malibu Moon mare, Malibu Clan. She is trained by Jonathan Wong.
