Day Plan Best in Jeff & Jack Coady Stakes
Phoenix, AZ (November 5, 2022) – Day Plan came wide and rallied through the stretch to win the $60,000 Jeff & Jack Coady Stakes going six furlongs over the fast main track at Turf Paradise.
Our 4-year-old daughter of Carpe Diem was favored by the crowd and she did not disappoint. There was plenty of speed in the field of ten and jockey Harry Hernandez let several other go on to dispute the early lead. Day Plan began to close around the turn, but was forced to go wide to get around those sent early. She closed resolutely and took the lead nearing the sixteenth pole and opened up to win by a length and one-quarter.
Day Plan has put together a solid 2022 campaign. She has three wins, a second and two thirds in her six starts this season. Overall, she has six career victories, nine top-three finishes in eleven starts and she has earned $155,300. Trained by Jonathan Wong, she was bred in Kentucky by Frederick C. Wieting. She is out of the winning Malibu Moon mare, Malibu Clan, a half-sister to graded stakes winner Cinco Charlie.
