Dawn Raider, a Tommy Town Thoroughbreds Bred Colt, Cruises

by Thoroughbred Daily News
Shelbyville, IN (July 6, 2016)-Dawn Raider (c, 2, Scat Daddy–Babe Hall {GSP}, by El Corredor) took some play at just under 6-1 for his May 19 unveiling at Churchill Downs, but weakened after showing some early pace to finish a distant seventh.

Narrowly favored here at 8-5, the chestnut was beaten for speed and settled a handful of lengths off the early fractions set by well-bet Louisiana-bred firster Borden County (Forefathers). Kept up to his task turning for home, the $350,000 KEESEP yearling rallied five wide into the lane and raced greenly into the final eighth of a mile, but raced away from the front-runner for a three-length victory.

A half-brother to Let Faith Arise (Kafwain), GISW, $488,240, Dawn Raider is also kin to a yearling colt of this year by Giant’s Causeway.

Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, $19,432. Owner-Ice Wine Stable, Susan Magnier, Michael B Tabor & Derrick Smith; Breeder-Tommy Town Thoroughbreds LLC (KY); Trainer-Wesley Ward
