Daffodil Sweet Wins Emerald Downs Feature

Auburn, WA (July 24, 2021) – Daffodil Sweet, the daughter of Ministers Wild Cat, who won the Washington State Legislators Stakes last out thirteen days ago, made another visit in to the winner’s circle in the featured allowance on the card today at Emerald Downs.

Daffodil Sweet was favored over the five other runners in the one mile allowance. She and jockey Juan Guttierrez sat comfortably in second for the opening half-mile. She closed the gap and took over the lead with two furlongs to run. Widening through the stretch, she was a comfortable winner by nearly a three length margin.

Daffodil Sweet is three-for-four this season and six-of-eight lifetime. Out of the top three only once in her career, she has earned $105,158 for One Horse Will Do Corporation and Steve Shimizu. Trained by Chris Stenslie and bred by Michael Terry, she is out of the winning Lion Heart mare, Easy on My Heart.
