Sacramento, CA (July 29, 2022) – Stanford runners continue their hot hand as 3-year-olds Stan the Hot Man and Justhappenlikethat scored back-to-back maiden victories in the Tommy Town silks in the 2nd and 3rd races at Sacramento.
The first of the Jonathan Wong trainees to visit the winner’s circle was Stan the Hot Man. The chestnut gelding set all the early pace and gamely prevailed in a stretch-long battle of the one mile maiden special weight by a hard fought nose.
Stan the Hot Man was produced by the stakes winning Unusual Heat mare, Heat Du Jour.
Justhappenlikethat was up next and the bay filly simply outclassed her field, going wire-to-wire over the five and one-half furlong trip, and coming home best by more than eight lengths.
Justhappenlikethat is out of the graded stakes-placed Philanthropist mare, Del Cielo.
