Albany, CA (September 17, 2021) – Back On the Street and Day Plan made it a very successful day for the racing stable at Golden Gate Fields, as the two fillies both came home best against their respective fields.
Back On the Street is a second generation Tommy Town homebred. The 3-year-old filly is out of Ministers Wild Cat’s G2 winner and $734,304 earner Doinghardtimeagain. The daughter of Malibu Moon earned her maiden special weight diploma in today’s 4th race going six furlongs over the all weather surface.
Tracking the leaders down the backstretch, she began to gain position around the turn and was ready for the fight at the top of the stretch. She put her nose in front a furlong from home and drew away to win by nearly three lengths.
Three races later, 3-year-old Day Plan captured the feature race on the card, a five and one-half furlong allowance over the all weather for her third victory of the season.
First out of the gate, Dan Plan was taken back into second in the early going. She was on even terms as the heading into the lane, but the pacesetter wasn’t done yet. With and eighth of a mile to go, Day Plan gained the lead and dug in gamely to hold off another closing challenger to win by a half-length.
Day Plan is by Carpe Diem, out of the winning Malibu Moon mare, Malibu Clan. She was bred in Kentucky by Frederick C. Wieting. Both fillies are trained by Jonathan Wong.
