Arizona Sun Wins Ocotillo Stakes

Phoeniz, AZ (December 3, 2021) – Arizona Sun, the 4-year-old daughter of Ministers Wild Cat, who was second last out in the six furlong Jeff and Jack Coady, Sr. Stakes at Turf Paradise, came home the winner in the Ocotillo Stakes over the same course and distance.

Arizona Sun was prominent from the start. She pressed the pacesetter doggedly. As that one faded away, another challenged. Battling into the final furlong, Arizona Sun would not relent, taking over and drawing away late to win by a length.

Arizona Sun has nine wins, three seconds, and three third in her nineteen career starts. She has earned $197,862 for owner Randy Howg and trainer Robertino Diodoro. Bred by Fleming Thoroughbred Farm, she was produced by the multiple stakes winning In Excess (IRE) mare, Cave Springs.
